The birth of a child should always be a joyous occasion. But in Ethiopia the maternal mortality rate is one of the highest in the world. These lives can be saved!
With a donation of 30 € you can support the work of Maternity Worldwide to reduce the maternal mortality rate of among women in Ethiopia. In gratitude of your support you will receive a unique, digital work of art, titled Mange ildfluer små (Many small fireflies) created by the internationally respected artist Olafur Eliasson.
You will receive the artwork as a screensaver immediately after you complete your donation. The screen saver is compatible with both a PC and a Mac.
The donation will go to fund the expansion of the work of Maternity Worldwide to 40 new villages in Ethiopia. The work consists of economic support for medical assistance to women in labour; the setting up of women’s support groups; education of the local population in contraception, sexual health and recognizing potentially dangerous complications in pregnant woman; microloans to women; education of local health workers and new equipment and medicine.
